Winning US Destroyer Model

Back in 2005, I entered my build of the Dragon brand 1/350 scale model of the USS Ingersoll Spruance-class destroyer in the IPMS Nationals in SM Megamall. This class is now out of service from the US Navy, and this particular ship was sunk as a target. As you can see, my build won 3rd place in its category.

The kit has no railings, so I scratchbuilt them out of stretched sprue. I stretched the sprue over a candle flame. It was a tedious build. These days, I marvel that I had enough time for this. Glad to know my effort paid off in the end though.
